What is an «upholstery fabric» ?

We're generally talking about hard-wearing fabrics that are often heavier and thicker than 'clothing' fabrics, for example. Here we find fabrics with a nobler appearance and a certain density so that they can be used for specific purposes. Upholstery fabrics will often have a higher grammage, certified resistance (Martindale), or a wider width required for certain applications (window coverings).

Why use an upholstery fabric ?

Fabrics for curtains, hangings and blinds

Find the fabric pattern or texture that suits your taste to dress your windows. We have fabrics in linen, 100% cotton, cotton blends, velvet and jacquard to give your home a warm feel. Depending on the room you want to decorate, you'll need and want specific fabrics.

• In a bedroom you need to block out the light: either double your fabric with a blackout lining or use a blackout fabric.

Fabrics for garnishing

Repair, cover or customise your armchairs and sofas with our seat quality fabrics. You will find the Mardinale rating: this is a test of the fabric's resistance to rubbing. We recommend a minimum of 20,000 turns to cover an armchair or seat.
