DIY - The scarf collar
If you dare to go out on cold winter days, you need the right “gear”! Our scarf collar can be used as a fixed protection against adverse weather conditions, but it can also be worn casually as an accessory around the neck.

Required materials:
- two pieces of 93 x 20cm cotton
- one piece of soft wadding, 93 x 20cm
- an erasable felt-tip pen
- Scissors
- Pattern paper
- Sewing thread
- The pattern here
Preparation:
Sewing values are 1cm and included in the pattern.
Cut the pattern 2x in the fabric, 1x in the wadding.

Place the pattern on one of the pieces of fabric and mark the 4 corners of the rectangular slit with a dry-erase marker.
Then trace the outline of the rectangle.

This is what you get:

Step 1: The slit
Lay the two pieces of fabric right sides together, then place them on top of the wadding.
Secure the 3 layers with pins around the slit rectangle.

Sew around the rectangle with a tight stitch.

Then open the slot following the lines. Make sure to notch the corners.

Turn the fabric right side out through the slit.

Step 2: The outline
Wrap one of the long sides around itself, so that the edges of the fabric are right sides together.

This is what you get:

Pin and stitch all the way through. Turn the piece right side out.

Then assemble the two short sides right sides together.

Stitch and notch the corners.

Then assemble the last side right sides together.
Pin in place and sew, leaving an opening of +/- 10cm (so that the work can be turned right side out).

Turn the scarf collar right side out, making the 4 corners stand out.

Close the 10cm opening with an invisible hand stitch.

Step 3: Finishing
Topstitch +/- 8mm from the outer edge and from the slit.

Your scarf collar is finished!
